About

Our Story

Founded by Zambian mental health advocates, the Maccabeus Foundation emerged from personal encounters with mental health challenges and a vision for healing rooted in God’s redemptive power. Today, we walk boldly in our mission to restore individuals, families, and communities through courage, compassion, and divine purpose.

The Maccabeus Foundation was born from a calling to bring restoration, clarity, and purpose to lives burdened by mental health challenges, addiction, emotional pain, and spiritual disconnection. Rooted in the belief that true transformation begins with the renewal of the mind, we offer a path to healing that integrates faith, science, community, and alternative plant-based therapies such as Ibogaine, Psilocybin, and cannabis-derived treatments. Inspired by strength, discipline, and divine purpose, the Foundation stands as a sanctuary for those seeking to break free from limiting patterns and step boldly into the life God intended for them.

Mission

To bring lasting healing and transformation to lives by renewing the mind. We help people overcome limiting patterns and rise into the fullness of who God created them to be.

Vision

To see individuals, families, and communities restored—with cycles of mental illness and addiction broken—so that people walk in freedom, purpose, and the identity God intended for them, bringing healing across generations.

Objectives

1. Advance Legal & Policy Frameworks for Ethical, Contextualized Care

Work with regulators, lawmakers, and legal experts to establish a medically supervised, legally compliant framework for plant-based therapies in Zambia. All efforts will be rooted in faith, cultural relevance, scientific evidence, and international best practices.

2. Promote Harm Reduction & Prevention

Implement pioneering, culturally resonant, and aspirational engagement strategies—including high-quality arts, media, and influencer-driven campaigns—that reduce risk, promote informed choices, and provide early pathways to healing. Engage diverse audiences through innovative experiences that inspire trust, challenge stigma, and make prevention aspirational.

3. Foster Economic Empowerment & Reintegration

Support individuals in recovery with access to dignified, sustainable livelihoods. Training will focus on digital skills, wellness services, and climate-smart enterprises — promoting long-term resilience, purpose, and independence while reducing relapse risk.

4. Strengthen Capacity & Infrastructure

Train Zambian clinicians and healthcare providers in safe, ethical alternative therapy practices. Develop partnerships for responsible cultivation and invest in future treatment infrastructure to ensure long-term sustainability and high standards of care.

5. Generate Knowledge & Lead Regional Change

Partner with research institutions to conduct rigorous impact studies and shape ethical standards. Document and share innovative engagement models alongside therapeutic outcomes, positioning Zambia as a continental leader not only in integrative plant-based therapies but also in creative, culturally attuned prevention methods that can inspire adoption across Africa.

6. Develop Phased Therapeutic Programs

Lay the groundwork for safe, trauma-informed treatments using Ibogaine, Psilocybin, and Medical Marijuana. Programs will include harm reduction, full medical oversight, and spiritual care — adapted to Zambia’s clinical context and cultural values.
